Make a pretty & useful two sectioned origami tray. This divided origami box has a handle in the middle, so it looks like a toolbox! There are 2 versions to make, the 1st has a two coloured look, the 2nd has a single color & you can also stack them, as they slot together!
This is the continuation of the origami boat basket. It’s also similar in looks to an origami tray I posted a couple years ago. I feel like this version is much easier, and more sturdy.
I’ve used a specific size of paper, but you can use any size of square or rectangular paper. The specific size is just if you want to add the two boxes inside. This size makes two square sections.
The first version of the box (the purple one and blue and white one below) is great for paper that has a different colour on the front and back.
The second version of the box is a stacking box! They can be stacked or slotted together and I think the second version is sturdier than the first. You will only see one side of the paper on the second version.

You will need:
▸ 1 sheet of 1:2 paper (half of a square)
(you can use any size – the resulting box will be a different shape)
Paper size example: 29.7 x 14.85
Final model size: 5 x 5 x 10.5 cm
The 2 inner boxes:
Take the length of the short edge of your paper and divide it by 1.1.
For example in my case: 14.85 ➗ 1.1 = 13.5.
So if you’re using my measurements, you’ll need:
▸ 2 sheets of 13.5 x 13.5 cm
